How We Handle Appeals
A bad ruling at the trial court level is not necessarily final. But appellate work is a different discipline. It lives in the written record. It requires precise legal analysis, careful briefing, and the ability to build a compelling argument from what is already before the court. At Hassan + Cables, we have done this work at every level.
We have argued before the Colorado Court of Appeals, the Colorado Supreme Court, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. We have contributed amicus briefs in cases of statewide significance, including a construction lien matter before the Colorado Supreme Court. We handle appeals arising from our own litigation and take stand-alone appellate referrals from other firms whose clients need dedicated appellate counsel.
When to Call
If you received an adverse ruling and believe there is a legal basis for review, or a favorable ruling is being appealed and you require appellate defense, we want to hear about it. We also work with clients still in active litigation who want appellate-level thinking applied to how the record is being built. Getting that right before judgment matters as much as the appeal itself.
