David acts as outside general counsel to businesses and investors on the topics of business formation, entity selection, corporate governance, investment and securities issues, business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, real estate, intellectual property, and complicated cannabis regulatory issues.

For the past five years, David has specialized in representation of state-licensed marijuana and hemp companies, and has advised non plant-touching companies on regulatory issues with a national scope. Before entering private practice, David worked for over eight years as an attorney for local government, where he handled real estate, intellectual property, elections law, child advocacy litigation, landlord/tenant issues, and federal grants.

David is a regular speaker at cannabis industry events, and presents at continuing legal education seminars and other industry events on cannabis topics.
